Kevin Miller, New York (JFK) Crewbase Manager

Email: kevin@flyvblue.org | Location: United States | Since: June 2013

Good day fellow aviators, my name is Kevin Miller and it's my pleasure to serve you all as the John F. Kennedy (JFK) Crewbase Manager. I was bitten by the aviation bug as a young child, and always dreamed of taking flight. I started flying later in my life, but I was blessed with starting my flight training back in 2004. Currently I have time logged in Cessna 172's, Piper Warriors and Tomahawks; but through the help of great friends I also have stick time being at the controls of a Piper Seneca and Beechcraft Baron. My aspiration is to one day become an airline pilot and join the ranks of great aviators of today. I have over 10 years of experience all over the aviation field from dispatcher at the flight school at Republic Airport (FRG) to the security sector from working at the Transportation Security Administration at JFK International Airport. Once again it's my pleasure to serve you as the JFK Crewbase Manager and if you have any questions, please feel free to send me an email and I will be more than happy to assist you in any way that I can. Keep the blue skies up.

Philip Katz, Dispatcher

Email: philip@flyvblue.org | Location: Middletown, CT | Since: July 2014

Philip Katz works as a dispatcher for Virtual Blue. Born to an American father and a Taiwanese mother, Philip spent most of his early years in Taipei, Taiwan. His love affair with aviation began in 2006, when he received a copy of Flight Simulator 2004 for Christmas, and he has been hooked ever since. After several years of offline flying, Philip finally had enough of FSX's "wonderful" default ATC and mustered the courage to join the VATSIM network in December 2012. In April 2013, he decided to take his passion one step further by signing up to become a controller at the VATSIM Boston ARTCC (vZBW). He has since worked his way up to his C1 Controller rating and has served as a staff mentor since January 2014. Beyond the world of virtual aviation, Philip is a sophomore at Wesleyan University in Middletown, CT, where he is pursuing a major in the College of Social Studies. Philip's experience on VATSIM - both as a controller and as pilot - is what inspired him to apply for the position of airline dispatcher at Virtual Blue. He is dedicated to ensuring that the pilots at Virtual Blue have the best experience they could possibly have with the airline and on the network by briefing them on their upcoming flights . Feel free to e-mail Philip or chase him down on TeamSpeak if you have any questions or concerns. Happy flying!

Dillon Lomnitzer, Chief Pilot

Email: dillon@flyvblue.org | Location: United States | Since: August 2014

Dillon Lomnitzer is the Airbus A320 Chief Pilot at Virtual Blue. Dillon’s enthusiasm for all things aviation started many years ago on a JetBlue flight from Newark (EWR) to Orlando (MCO). The minute he stepped onto that aircraft, a new love was born. Currently, Dillon is a Licensed Nurse with some background education of computer engineering and business management. He plans on attending medical school in the near future to become an Emergency Room Physician. His short term goals are to obtain his private pilots license at his local airfield and immerse himself deeper in his love for aviation. Dillon has been simming on and off for 8 years and seriously for the past 2 years. He has since mastered the A320 and acquired his P1 pilot rating. He plans on using his knowledge to further assist in the Virtual Blue training program with pilots old and new alike. Don’t be afraid to share your questions or concerns with him regarding anything, as his door is always open!

Matthew Ballew, Airline Instructor

Email: matthew@flyvblue.org | Location: United States | Since: July 2014

Matt's love for aviation began in his father's Cessna 172. At the age of 8, he went on his first flight in his father's plane and was captivated by the beauty of the land rushing beneath and the elegance of the aircraft in which we rode. While he continued to go on flights with his father, they became fewer and farther between. School became his top priority and he could feel the love for aviation slowly fading away. Come his 8th grade year, he all but forgotten his lifelong ambition. He had almost decided on becoming a doctor when his brother, a commercial pilot for Mesa, took him up again in their Cessna 172. While the flight only lasted a few short minutes, he was reminded of his life long goal of becoming a commercial pilot. Immediately Matt took the first plausible step that someone his age could do to begin learning how to fly, by searching the internet. He stumbled upon a flight simulator called X-plane and decided to give it a whirl. Shortly after getting X-plane, Matt discovered VATSIM and joined. Through VATSIM he learned much of the basics of flying, but hit a dead end. That's when he discovered Virtual Airlines. The first suggestion he received was Virtual Blue, and immediately applied. Now he is here, serving as a flight instructor for Virtual Blue to give back and help other's achieve their goals. He has plans of attending North Dakota University and going through the Gateway program to become a pilot for the airline he loves. He does NOT have plans on leaving flyvblue.org anytime soon!
